Te Tauraki
Te Tauraki has two core functions:
Iwi Māori Partnership Board
Te Tauraki is the Iwi Māori Partnership Board within the Ngāi Tahu Takiwā.
Our vision is a health system that delivers on the guarantees and promises of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and truly meets the needs and aspirations of whānau Māori, particularly in the Ngāi Tahu Takiwā.
Our mission is to influence hauora systems by holding the Crown to account for improved quality, access, and outcomes for whānau Māori.
Commissioning agency
Te Tauraki operates as the commissioning agency for Whānau Ora in Te Waipounamu and the Chatham islands.
As one of four new commissioning agencies chosen nationwide, we are responsible for contracting and strengthening services that lift hauora and wellbeing outcomes for whānau Māori across Te Waipounamu.
We work with service providers to support 97 Whānau Ora Navigators.
