Te Tauraki

Te Tauraki is the Iwi Māori Partnership Board for the Ngāi Tahu Takiwā

Our vision is a health system that delivers on the guarantees and promises of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and truly meets the needs and aspirations of whānau Māori, particularly in the Ngāi Tahu Takiwā.

Our mission is to influence hauora systems by holding the Crown to account for improved quality, access, and outcomes for whānau Māori.

Provisional Health Plan for the Ngāi Tahu Takiwā

Shaped by whānau Māori voice and hauora data from across the Takiwā, Te Tauraki IMPB has prepared a Provisional Health Plan for the Ngāi Tahu Takiwā. The plan identifies priorities, how we will amplify and monitor them so we can best influence change and equitable hauora outcomes for whānau Māori.

The plan outlines the focus and mahi of Te Tauraki IMPB over the three years 2024-2027.

Cancer Infographic

The following infographic has been created using the data on cancer collected from the Te Tauraki Health Profile, Volume One and Volume Two, published on 22nd May 2024. This comprehensive profile, prepared by Te Aka Whai Ora and Te Whatu Ora, provides an in-depth analysis of health outcomes and service utilisation for Māori communities, focusing on priority areas such as cardiovascular health, cancer, mental health, and long-term conditions.

Whānau Māori Voice

Understanding what is important to whānau Māori in our Ngāi Tahu Takiwā helps us to achieve the best health outcomes, support improved health sector performance and shape the design and delivery of health services and public health interventions to have maximum benefit for Māori.

A new section on our website provides a summary of what we already know about the needs and aspirations of whānau Māori in our Takiwā, and identifies areas where there are gaps in our knowledge.
