Te Tauraki respects the privacy of persons and complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (the Privacy Act). All personal information collected by Te Tauraki will be managed in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Act and Health Information Privacy Code 2020.
Information collected and stored automatically
If you do nothing during your visit but browse through the website, read pages, or download information, we will gather and store certain information about your visit automatically. This information does not identify you personally. We automatically collect and store the following information about your visit:
- The Internet domain (for example, “www.acompany.co.nz”) and IP address (an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web) from which you access our website;
- The type of browser and operating system used to access our site;
- The date and time you access our site;
- The pages you visit; and
- If you linked to or visited our website from another website, the address of that website.
We use this information to help us make our website more useful to visitors – to learn about the number of visitors to our site and the types of technology our visitors use. We do not track or record personal information about individuals and their visits.

If you choose to provide us with personal information – by filling out a form with your personal information and submitting it to us through the website – we collect and use that information to:
- Receive tangible feedback on the delivery of health services in order to improve those services.
- Follow up with you on your feedback on the services, if requested.
- To respond to communications or feedback received from you, and to help us get the information you have requested.

We only share the information you give us with another organization if your inquiry relates directly to that organization, or as otherwise required by law.
In some instances, your data is stored by external secure online service providers.
Your obligations regarding the information you provide us about others
If you provide us with personal information about another person (for example, on behalf of whānau) then you are responsible for making sure you have their permission to do so. You must also make that person aware that you have given their personal information to us and that we will use it as set out in this Privacy Policy.
What we will not do with your information
- We will not sell or rent contact information lists to parties who are not part of Te Tauraki.
- Te Tauraki does not collect information for commercial marketing.
- We do not create individual profiles with the information you provide or give it to any private organizations.
- We will not (to the extent we can reasonably control) use any personal information for purposes other than that for which it has been collected.
Information held in relation to newsletter subscriptions
We may provide email subscription options for updates on various topics. Subscription to email updates is optional, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Access to and correction of your personal information
Subject to the Act, you have the right to access your personal information that we hold and to request a correction to your personal information. You can also request that we erase any personal information we hold about you. This does not include any data we have to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
