Ā mātou mahi
As an Iwi-Māori Partnership Board, the primary obligations of Te Tauraki are to whānau Māori, Papatipu Rūnanga and Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. Te Tauraki honours, and continues, the mahi of our tūpuna to foster health and wellbeing for whānau Māori.
The purpose of Te Tauraki is to represent local Māori perspectives on:
- the needs and aspirations of Māori in relation to hauora Māori outcomes; and
- how the health sector is performing in relation to those needs and aspirations; and
- the design and delivery of services and public health interventions within localities.
Establishing and recognizing Iwi-Māori Partnership Boards in the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022 is an opportunity for the Crown to demonstrate its commitment to good governance in line with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Te Tauraki has a four-year Strategic Plan and an annually reviewed Work Plan which outline the priorities and work of Te Tauraki.
